BAGGER EUROPEAN CUP IS BORN!
The championships dedicated to Bagger motorcycles (Harley Davidson, Indian etc) have always been viewed with curiosity by the European motorcycling world. Curiosity that can be satisfied from 2025, when the Bagger Racing European Cup will be at the starting line.
An event born from the will of one of the motorcycling icons of the 2000s: Ruben Xaus. He ignited the crowds of the SBK world championship, unpredictable and volcanic on the track as he is off it today. In 2024 he returned to the saddle in the States in this category, winning the Bagger Racing Leage title at his first attempt. His instinct as an entrepreneur led him to sign an agreement to obtain the rights to the championship for Europe, which he will organize supported by the Andorran federation, under the aegis of FIM EUROPE.
It will be open to all brands that offer motorcycles that can be equipped with bags on the market, thus allowing manufacturers and tuners to compete on a terrain that has never before been the subject of competition in Europe.
Great satisfaction for Ruben Xaus who has dedicated much of the last year to this project: “I found fertile ground for this project in FIM Europe, which immediately embraced it with enthusiasm. I am convinced that this championship can be an added value for the events in which it will be hosted, raising the level of entertainment and interest of the same.
We are in the process of defining the calendar, which will be made official within a few days, but which will include the main European countries. The regulations will also be simple and open to all. We want the drivers registered in the championship to have fun and enjoy themselves”
Alessandro Sambuco, General Secretary of FIM Europe, is also on the same wavelength: “I am always very satisfied when we manage to add a new championship to our sporting offer. Adding trophies and championships is an indicator of the health of our world and also demonstrates the trust in FIM Europe. Our proposal summarizes what differentiates us from the rest of the sports world that operates outside the international sports system: we offer sports rules, safety in sports practice, insurance coverage and organizations that are up to every situation. The Baggers will offer a wide range of drivers, young and experienced, the opportunity to compete in a safe and dynamic environment which, thanks to the new promoter, will also offer engaging entertainment to complement the race.”
The championship includes two races for each round, divided into Saturday and Sunday, preceded by free and official practice sessions which will define the starting grid. Coordination on the track, organizational secretariat and marketing will be handled by the Italian company Sh Service SRL which will support Gestions and l’instant sl in the organisation. Registrations will open in conjunction with the MBE in Verona, a link event between the custom world and that of track motorcycling.
